Bridging the world through films
With China playing a dominant role in the global community, the desire to heighten the soft power of Chinese cinema, and likewise the desire for access to such content worldwide have increased as well. Over 600 films are produced annually in China, but only a fraction of them are available abroad.
On top of that, the number of international co-productions between China is also rapidly increasing. Chinese filmmakers strive to get their stories out to the world, while filmmakers abroad seek to tap into China’s giant audience base. For both sides to forge ahead, it is essential to bridge the cultural and language barrier that stands between China and the rest of the world.
