About Zakkaten Media
Based in Hong Kong, Zakkaten Media aims to connect the Chinese film industry with the rest of the world. We offer professional writing services in several languages (English, Chinese, Japanese, French, to name a few) for film companies and film festivals in the region. We also individually offer script doctoring and development consultation.
Zakkaten Media was co-founded by Maggle Lee and Kevin Ma. They have a combined 16 years’ experience in film industries in the U.S., Canada, Japan, Hong Kong and China. Both are native English speakers with a working knowledge of Chinese and Japanese.
Armed with insider knowledge and first-rate writing craft, Lee and Ma have done translation work on high-profile blockbusters and award-winning films of A-list film festivals worldwide. Their recent projects include: Wang Xiaoshuai’s So Long, My Son, Felix Chong’s HK Film Award winner Project Gutenberg, Tony Chan’s The Bravest, Ramen Hui’s Monster Hunt 2, Dante Lam’s Operation Mekong, Yojiro Takita’s The Silence of Smoke, Wai Ka-fai’s Detective VS Sleuth and arthouse festival darling Suburban Birds.
